rPET (recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) is produced by collecting, sorting, cleaning and reprocessing post-consumer PET plastic waste — primarily transparent bottles (water, soft drinks, cosmetics) — back into food-grade or cosmetic-grade plastic resin.
The resulting rPET resin shares virtually identical properties with virgin PET: crystal-clear transparency, excellent barrier properties, recyclability (code n°1), and food contact compliance. The key difference: its lifecycle carbon footprint is 40 to 70% lower than virgin PET production.
